About Black Rose
Black Rose is an old land-based pokie by Aristocrat that is now available online. The game offers an RTP of 96.40% and a maximum win of 5,000x.
Slot Visuals
Black Rose builds its visual set around a fortune-telling theme. The Pirate, Gypsy, Magic Book, Crow, Love Potion and Crystal Ball anchor both the symbol set and the bonus mechanics.
Card ranks A, K, Q, J and 10 fill the lower-paying positions.
Crystal Ball Feature Trigger
The Crystal Ball appears only on reel III.
The feature fires when it lands on an active line and two matching magic symbols sit next to it on reels II and IV. Which pair matches decides the outcome.
One trigger, four fortunes: Love Potion opens Free Spins and Crow triggers a Wild & ReSpin. Magic Book pays an Instant Win, and Gypsy launches the Tarot Card Bonus Round.
Wild Symbols & Elemental Conversion
Wild appears only on reels I and V. It substitutes for every symbol except the Crystal Ball and does not trigger any of the four Crystal Ball bonuses on its own.
Two Wilds landing directly opposite each other on payline 1, 2 or 3 turn one of the four magic symbols on screen into a Wild. The extra Wild can extend a winning line beyond the original two Wild positions.
Double Up Gamble Feature
Double Up appears as an optional step after a winning spin that did not trigger a Crystal Ball bonus. The player moves to a separate screen and calls heads or tails on a coin flip.
A correct call doubles the current win. A wrong call loses the whole win and returns the player to the reels.
Bonus Rounds
Free Spins – Love Potion
Two Love Potion symbols on reels II and IV next to the Crystal Ball open Free Spins. The same match during the round adds more Free Spins.
During Free Spins, a Wild landing on reel I and reel V in the same spin spreads across adjacent positions on both reels. Base game spins do not carry this behaviour.
Crow Wild & ReSpin
Two Crow symbols on reels II and IV next to the Crystal Ball turn into Wilds and award one automatic ReSpin.
The new Wilds stay locked in place for that single spin, and any new winning line pays normally.
Magic Book Instant Win
Two Magic Book symbols next to the Crystal Ball on reels II and IV pay an Instant Win of up to 20x the total bet.
It is the fastest of the four Crystal Ball outcomes in the Black Rose pokie: no extra screen or round opens before the win reaches the balance.
Tarot Card Bonus Round – Gypsy
Two Gypsy symbols on reels II and IV next to the Crystal Ball launch the Tarot Card Bonus. It is the most involved of the four Crystal Ball outcomes. The screen shows 15 cards hiding five figures in three colours, and the player picks seven cards.
The cards decide the payout: two or three matching figures pay the values in the first table. Three to five cards of one colour multiply that win by up to x6.
| Figure | 2 matches | 3 matches |
|---|---|---|
| Priestess / Angel | 4.50 | 9.00 |
| Wizard | 3.60 | 7.20 |
| King | 2.70 | 5.40 |
| Jester | 1.80 | 3.60 |
| Queen | 0.90 | 1.80 |
| Colour | 3 matches | 4 matches | 5 matches |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red | x2 | x3 | x5 |
| Blue | x2 | x3 | x4 |
| Green | x2 | x4 | x6 |
Values in both tables are set against the game's reference bet line. The final payout scales to the player's current stake.
Black Rose Paytable
Black Rose pays left to right, and each active line pays only its highest combination. Payout values are reference multipliers from the paytable, and the actual payout multiplies by the current bet per line.
| Symbol | 5 | 4 | 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
 | 30.00 | 4.50 | 0.90 |
 | 9.00 | 1.80 | 0.45 |
 | 7.20 | 1.80 | 0.45 |
 | 5.40 | 1.35 | 0.30 |
 | 4.50 | 1.35 | 0.30 |
 | 2.70 | 0.90 | 0.15 |
 | 1.35 | 0.45 | 0.15 |
The Crystal Ball has no line payout and works only as the feature trigger on reel III.
RTP & Volatility
Black Rose runs at 96.40% RTP in its online release, with Medium volatility. In practice, smaller wins from the base symbols land often. Larger spikes come less often, arriving through the Tarot Card Bonus or an Instant Win.
The 5,000x max win is reached mainly through the Tarot Card Bonus, when high figure and colour matches land together in the same round.

FAQ
The Crystal Ball on reel III triggers when two matching magic symbols land on reels II and IV. Love Potion opens Free Spins and Crow gives a Wild & ReSpin. Magic Book pays an Instant Win and Gypsy opens the Tarot Card Bonus: one trigger, four fortunes.
Crow converts two matching symbols into sticky Wilds and awards a single automatic extra spin. Free Spins from Love Potion run multiple spins and add spreading Wilds across reels I and V during the round.
The Tarot Card Bonus produces the highest payouts in the Black Rose slot when figure matches and colour multipliers land together at their top values. Reaching the full 5,000x max win depends on hitting several high-value figures under a high colour multiplier in the same round.
A magic symbol on screen, Love Potion, Magic Book, Gypsy or Crow, converts into a Wild, extending the winning combination beyond the original two positions. This conversion only applies to Wild pairs on lines 1, 2 or 3.
Double Up is available after a winning spin as long as no Crystal Ball bonus fired on that spin. A win that triggers Free Spins, the Crow ReSpin, the Instant Win or the Tarot Card Bonus skips the Double Up step.
